Greyhound Bus Discounts

• Join Road Rewards and get 10% off your next Greyhound bus ticket!           Greyhound’s Road Reward’s program is a great way to earn free travel and discounted fares. • Buy Your Ticket Online –  Greyhound offers some serious discounts to entice you to purchase your tickets online. I’ve gotten discounts of up to 40% or more just because I used the internet to buy my ticket. You can use Greyhound.com or the Greyhound Mobile app to purchase online tickets and save.
• Advance Purchase Discount – This is by far my favorite Greyhound discount. If you purchase your bus ticket 2 or more weeks in advance you can get some serious savings compared to a normal ticket price. I routinely pay 50% to 60% less for my Greyhound bus tickets because I always purchase them in advance instead of at the station on the day of my trip.
• Mid-Week Discounts – Greyhound offers discounts on travel during the middle of the week. If you travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays you can save anywhere from 10% to 40% off your regular ticket price. Greyhound offers these discounts to drum up business on their slower days and fill their buses. Here’s another quick tip: The earlier your bus departs on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings the more you will save. So try to book early morning trips.
• Student Discounts – Students get 10% of all Greyhound fares when they sign up for the Student Advantage Card. It also qualifies them for 40% off Greyhound shipping as well as discounts at 1000’s of stores nationwide. • Military & Veteran Discounts – Active or retired armed service members and their families get 10% off full price Greyhound bus tickets when purchased at the station.
• Senior Citizen Discounts – Senior citizens aged 62 and older get 5% off on their bus fare.
• Discounts for Children Under 17 – Children under the age of 17 riding the Greyhound bus qualify to receive up to 20% off the price of their tickets. There are a couple of different stipulations, however, that depend on factors like the child’s exact age and how they will be traveling.
